The COVID-19 virus has drastically changed the way our volleyball season is scheduled to go this year. We did have several weeks of conditioning and practice during the summer, but were then told that our season has been moved and rescheduled to take place during March and April with practices beginning on or around February 15, 2021. Consequently we were not permitted to practice past August 28th.
At the time of this writing (9/8/20) the NJSIAA has scheduled FOUR athletic seasons (instead of the usual three). They are:
FALL OUTDOOR
WINTER
FALL INDOOR (our season scheduled to begin mid-February)
SPRING
Generally a student-athlete is not permitted to compete in more than one sport per season... but here we have TWO Fall seasons facing us. Right now we are being told that a student-athlete who chooses to participate in a sport during the Fall Outdoor season will still be allowed to participate in a sport during the Fall Indoor season... but unfortunately that can change in an instant. If you choose to participate in a Fall Outdoor season sport you may not be allowed to participate in volleyball during the Fall Indoor season. Beware!!!!
